cberg
What causes data tags to disassociate from the objects that they are connected to. I've been experiencing persistent random dissassociation of space tags and wall tags in my file. I am using project sharing for this file. Working in VW2019 sp2? Any ideas as to what is causing it? Is there a way beyond placing a new tag to reattach? Edited February 5, 2019 by cberg Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee KIvanov Posted February 6, 2019 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted February 6, 2019 Hello cberg, This is knowing issue and we are working on it. The problem is that tagged object( wall, space... ) is not checked out when the data tag is edited. If you want to reattach data tags, you can use control points. If the data tag does not have leader, you have to turned on it (the leader) first and then to reattach the data tag. Best Regards, Kostadin Ivanov 1 Quote Link to comment
cberg
Thanks. At least for now, I will try to not do project sharing. Quote Link to comment
rb-arch
We're trying to use project sharing in 3 person office. We thought we'd use the new data tags and tag all the objects in the sheet layers. It has been an unmitigated disaster. Now, you can't even update a viewport (elevation or section) without checking out tags on other sheets - it makes no sense. The tags take ownership of everything so it is nearly impossible for two people to work on the project. Even with an entire elevation sheet layer checked out, if we try to generate the viewports it will ask us to check out tags on floor plan sheet layers. We, even the engineers who fix the issues themselves, often do not know when the fix will be pushed out to the public. I'll keep an eye on this and post as soon as I hear anything. 2 Quote Link to comment
Tim Harland
We are having the same problem (Data Labels dissassociating from spaces) with spaces referenced in to a file using traditional referencing (no project sharing) is this the same issue? Quote Link to comment

I think that this is another issue. Could you send me a simple test file and steps how to test the problem? Thanks, Kostadin Ivanov Quote Link to comment
Tim Harland
Hi Klvanoy, I have just sent you a couple of test files demonstrating the issue. Regards, Tim Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee KIvanov Posted March 22, 2019 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted March 22, 2019 Hi Tim, I saw the issue. This is another issue. For the moment as a workaround you can use the menu command "Reset All Plug-Ins". Thanks, Kostadin Ivanov Quote Link to comment
jasongillman
@KIvanov I am in VW 2025 and in a few project sharing files we are having this issue too of disassociating datatags. Has this bug come back or was it never resolved? Thanks Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee KIvanov Posted February 13 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted February 13 Hi @jasongillman, Could you add a bug and we will analyse it? My guess is that it could be a new bug. Best Regards, Kostadin Ivanov 1 Quote Link to comment
