Sectional viewport

I'm struggling to use the sectional viewport tool, on one side is the section of the building and I'm slightly confused about the other outputs. Ideally I would just like to have the output of the section straight through the model but I am unsure how to achieve this. Thanks any help/advice would be appreciated.

Just a guess but before you cut your section, do you have unified view turned on?

If those other objects are off to the right in plan then you could limit the length of the section to just that of the model via the OIP.
