Can't request extension for student license

Hi, I need to renew my student license and having read some of the other conversations on this forum I understand I need to request an extension through the Vectorworks Student Portal. However I can't see where to do that and when I login to my account it just keeps telling me I need to update my account but then says 'your account could not be updated'. Please help.
