hardscape report

Hi, I'm total newbie in vectorworks. I've got problem with hardscape report. All areas 2d are drawn in hardscape tool.  When I create report and make format cells with summarize items with the same name, the area cells disappearing, like this "---". Some of hardscape with the same name  are converted to path - does it matter?
I was looking for some answers before, but i don't found any helpfull tip for this. 
I will be very gratefull for any help for this problem and tips how to create my  site plan to avoid problems with reports.

Click the disclosure triangle (black downward pointing triangle) on the column with the area and check the Sum Values check box. This will sum all the values of "summarized" subrows.

 

Without this checked you get what you are seeing, when objects with different values are summarized, you get a --- to indicate that the values are not all the same.
