Pamela
Having been an avid user of ACad I find myself missing some of the features I used the most. For example line types, in Acad I could create line types that would contain a letter or symbol say a "W" for a water line to be used in the site drawings. This helped to clean up the drawing and make it very obvious what the line represented. I KNOW there has to be a way to generate those types of custom lines in VW11, but I am not finding it through my research. I understand the concept of scripts (which I am sure is what I will need to create my line types) but I have yet to master the art of creating and using vectorscripts. Can anyone help me out?? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks PSH Quote Link to comment
jfmarch
perhaps those site features might be part of VW Landmark...? Quote Link to comment
B.Balemi
Hi Pamela Try www.vectordepot.com and under plugins there is a broken line tool you can download and place in your plugins folder within the vectorworks folder, its towards the bottom. I think this allows text to be inserted. Hope this is what you want. Regards Brendan Quote Link to comment
MullinRJ
Hi Pamela, There is also an example on the NNA website at http://www.nemetschek.net/support/custom/vscript/example.html that shows how to do what you want. It's the second from the bottom of the page (2-D Path Object). You may have to customize it for your needs, but that's half the fun. Good luck, Raymond Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
It is possible - the Australian version of Architect from OzCAD includes a line type option with embedded text. Quote Link to comment
Pamela
Thanks ever so much, now to just dig out what I need. It may very well be a site feature in Landmark, but I haven't found it yet. At least now I know there is hope. Thanks again Quote Link to comment
