STERNontwerp
I'm trying to find the index number of a specific item in a list. I thought I could use the Index Bounds node for this, but can't get it to work. I've stripped the network to show what I tried, but it doesn't give the expected outcome: 'item 3' (nor does it give an error '-1'). index-bounds-question.vwx Quote Link to comment
Marionette Maven Marissa Farrell Posted October 22, 2018 Marionette Maven Share Posted October 22, 2018 You're going to want to use the Index node instead of Index Bounds. index-bounds-question_MFarrell.vwx Quote Link to comment
STERNontwerp
I should have made my question clearer: I have a list, and I know the value I'm looking for , but I want to know on what item that value is in the list. In other words, in the actual network I'm working on: I can find out what the max value is in a list, but I want to know on where the max value is. I thought the Index Bounds node was made to do that. See new attachment index-bounds-question2.vwx Quote Link to comment
Marionette Maven Marissa Farrell Posted October 22, 2018 Marionette Maven Share Posted October 22, 2018 My answer stands. Use the Index node. Quote Link to comment

MrPilot
Hi Marissa, I'm bumping this topic as I have a similar issue with the "Index Bounds" node – maybe you can give me a tip on what's going wrong here... I am looking to get the index of the first occurrence of item in list. I've also looked at the code inside of the node, and it seems to make sense at first sight for the behavior I'd expect. Many thanks in advance for any help! Konrad Br. Quote Link to comment
