Sheet layer set to view?

When Im moving back and forth between design layer and a sheet layer, why when I switch back tho the sheet layer it doesnt fit to page based on sheet page size? It seems to retain the zoom location that Im in at design layer.  Which is a bit annoying? Should fit to view every time?

Are your Design Layers 1:1 ?

I think it only works if you set your DL Scale to the same Scale as (most of) your SLVPs.

You could have your various sheets as 'saved views' inorder to always navigate to exactly where you want. But that won't have solved the issue - just worked around it.

sheets as saved views....oy thats not confusing! For me I get it, for some of our staff this will bring confusion.

 

  My DL is not in 1 to 1.  I would think a sheet views as its meant to only act as a displaying page that it would automatically fit to view as everything is 1:1 on sheet views.

You could try working with the Separate Sheet Views preference turned on. It separates how VW remembers the last sheet layer position vs the last design layer position. Unfortunately it remembers a different zoom position for each different sheet layer so it can be disconcerting when navigating between sheet layers. I try it every once and a while and then turn it off again.  I've always wished that this preference only made the distinction between design layers and sheet layers as a group. Maybe I'll wish list that.....

I can't find a way to pull that from the database, but I'm not an expert. I have a few views set up but they mainly focus on tools and commands usage and hardware specs. I'll check!

I know I ALWAYS work with this setting on, but I often have only 1-2 sheet layers with many viewports on them for render demos and my usage isn't typical especially compared to an architectural doc.
