Message Centre

My second day using 2019.

- Message Centre Icon flashed there was a message

- Click on Icon

- Programme Freezes

- Force Quit

- Open programme

- No idea what the message was, alert has disappeared

- Selet Message Centre again

- Freeze-up

 

Moral: Don't touch that button. Ever!

Cannot replicate here on mac or widnows. Are you using 10.13.2 as in your sig, or 10.13.6? (I forget to update mine all the time, so im just clarifying)

I'll update my profile, as I am using 10.13.6. I'll try a system restart & let you know.

A system restart has no effect. Even if it's a new blank file. What I do note is when I select the icon a new screen of some kind (message centre?) flashed very briefly on the screen. I also note that with two monitors VW 2018 would "remember" that the drawing "lived". VW 2019 does know where the palettes live but not the drawing. Should I send you the file?

If its crashing out it will not recall the location of the document most likely. Does message center only crash in that file? If you open a new file and click it, it does not crash? (Message Center shouldnt be related to a file at all)

So the document location issue seems to have been a hiccup. 

 

The Message Centre is what freezes / crashes the file. Happens with a new blank file or the file I'm working on. I do note that the message notification did disappear at the time of the first crash.

Speaking of the message center... mine looks like this (SP0 and SP1):

 

 

The "Settings" and "Done" buttons remain obscured even if I resize the dialogue box...

So perhaps I should just write this day off! Made the mistake of opening the Message Centre (the icon said I have 3 messages) this action still  causing the programme to freeze. Between this & disappearing walls in Renderworks, perhaps I should just fire up my bubble mac & work in Vectorworks Twelve.
