Apply different color to subtracted surfaces?

Recommended Posts

Probably the best way is to make the drawer objects the colour you want and then use the Extract Tool in the 3D tools Palette to to extract the drawer front as a Nurbs surface and then change the colour to whatever you need. You will need to nudge the Nurbs Surface away from the drawer object a fraction to avoid interference or "Z fighting", but that should give you what you need.

Thanks, Andy. Mark's technique worked well for this but, for the next phase, I need to add different colors (like attached pattern) to each drawer front. I think converting to Nurbs will be helpful for that. Again, much appreciated. This forum has helped me so much over the years. I feel fortunate to have access to the wealth of knowledge offered here.
