Richard Webber
Hi, I have re-packaged VectorWorks 11.0.1 for distribution on our network, however when users run the application they see: "Failed to write required registry entries. Error number: 5 - Access Denied - you do not have permission to write to the required registry entries". Can anyone tell me which specific registry entries it is trying to write? Many thanks, Richard Webber. Quote Link to comment
Ensis
Hi, I've found this posting via the search option on the board. Does anyone know what the solution for this problem is? I'm having the same problems running the VectorWorks Viewer 11 on a Terminal Server 2003. Thanx for the reply in advance! Regards, Kenneth Quote Link to comment
islandmon
It's called permissions. Each Directory has specific read®,write(w), execute(x) permissions. This is the only way a server can manage multiple User events. In this specific instance the User is not the administrator and therefore does not have sufficient permissions to modified the system librarys & directory> Access Denied... Quote Link to comment
wv_vectorworker
vectorworks wants to write to the drive that it is on, for example your harddrive or a CD. so like Islandmon says, if you can't write to that drive, VW won't run. Quote Link to comment
