DWG Import very slow in Designer 2018 SP4

Hi all,

 

While this is not a completely new issue, it seems that (using project sharing/2018 designer SP4) DWG file import is extremely slow. Importing a simple 200k DWG might take several minutes. The procedurally following project file update from the working file will extremely slow, as well.

 

The DWG files really are small and simple, HVAC line drawings etc.

 

Is there any setting that might cause this?

Are these just 2D lines, or are these parts saved and used in "scaled" Blocks ?

Or is the DWG geometry located far from VW origin ?

Hmm...inspecting...there seems to be some simple 3D blocks like boxes representing radiators. They don't appear to be scaled in DWG.

 

Currently the import setting "convert obects to all 2D"

Hmmh, no wrong setting I could imagine and your

machine‘s spec doesn‘t look too bad either.
