brian.harry@cssd.ac.uk
How to disable Vectorworks Client prompting for updates - Is this possible via a setting locally on an .xml file or registry setting if possible. As I want to deploy the updates centrally and not have this prompted on the client machines. Kind regards Brian Quote Link to comment
0 zoomer
You can deactivate Update search in VW Preferences > Session > Never No problem with Update notification for me. Annoying is only the always repeating "there is a new Version of VW" message when you work on an older Version of VW. (Like when your machine and OS will be rejected by any newer VW Version, anyway, hint hint) Edited July 25, 2018 by zoomer Quote Link to comment
0 brian.harry@cssd.ac.uk
Do you know if you can set this outside of VW, such as in an .xml or settings files in the Program Files area. As I want to set this as a standard feature, as the machines are to be used by students and I want to limit the the options available. Quote Link to comment
0 zoomer
Here on Mac there seem to be a few setting XML files in the typical (User) library Application Support Folders of the App, containing "Update" Settings but I am not sure if it is a good idea to share/overwrite them globally. There might be settings included that may not be appropriate on a different machine. If there is any more advanced and allowed way to do so, you should better contact someone more suitable like @Pat Stanford Quote Link to comment
