bruce choi
Does anyone know how to enable the preview? When I select a VectorWoks file, it say preview and shows vwctorWorks 11 logo. I'd like to see a 'preview' as drawing in the file. Your answer will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Bruce Quote Link to comment

jan15
Is that in version 11 only? I don't see a Preview button in v10. Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
mine is on the print dialog box, so it's after you select print from the memu bar. Quote Link to comment
G_Hannigan
Are you talking about "Print Preview" that is available from the opened file within VW, or the type of preview you get with Autocad that shows a small view of the drawing BEFORE it is opened? Quote Link to comment
Petri
The original question seems to refer to Finder previews. This does not work with VW files - or many other files, for that matter. By and large, it is limited to graphics and plain text files. The preview is often generated by Finder. I'm not even sure what the preview should show: a VW file is not technically 'a drawing' but rather something of a database from which you generate tens of drawings. Quote Link to comment
jan15
The Autocad preview that George is talking about is not a Thumbnail (which is the Windows equivalent of a Finder preview). It's part of Autocad. The preview only displays in Autocad's Open File dialog box. It shows a miniature version of the drawing window as it would appear if you were to open the file, and it displays almost instantly. And it's only available if the file was saved with a preview. Photoshop has that too. Quote Link to comment
bruce choi
Thank you for all the answers. Basically, I was curious about the 'thumb nail' view which George Hannigan mentioned. So that I have a good sense what the drawings in the file looks like before opening it. Thank you. Quote Link to comment
