Symbol Creation

I would like to create a symbol form an  object and have the original drawing remain.

Only option I see is leave instance in place. (Which is the new symbol) Unless I am missing something I cant leave the original drawing which i would like to do without having to edit or explode the symbol.

Maybe someone can enlighten me??

You’re right. It needs a fourth button. “Leave Source geometry in place”

Just duplicate it first - then create the symbol from the Duplicate

Yes that an obvious workaround that could be solved by the simple addition of another tick box.
