APE Design Ctr Posted October 6, 2004 Share Posted October 6, 2004 I have properly attached records to symbols, but when I create a report to show all records, nothing shows up. Upon entering back into the symbol, it reveals that proper information is attached into the default of the symbol. Any ideas? Quote Link to comment
jfmarch Posted October 6, 2004 Share Posted October 6, 2004 i think the record info needs to be attached to the symbol, not the object, if i understand you. you should check by editing the symbol, make sure nothing is highlighted, and look at the data pane of the object info palette. also check the database header info on your worksheet and make sure you have the right criteria for the symbols you want to catch... Petri Posted October 6, 2004 Share Posted October 6, 2004 Hey, APE Design, were the default values entered before placing the symbols? Changing defaults does not affect existing instances. If the instances predate defaults, don't panic. Use custom selection to select all instances of the symbol, then in OI say 'Replace'; use any symbol you have and then repeat 'Replace' with the actual symbol. This does not work if the symbols are in walls, but I think I have a script somewhere that does the job. Quote Link to comment
APE Design Ctr Posted October 6, 2004 Author Share Posted October 6, 2004 I got it to work. I had put in the default information by editing 2D component, despite of that it didnt work. What I had to do is add a 2D line, save the symbol, then edit the symbol and remove the 2D line. Now it works... Wierd. Quote Link to comment
