0 Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted June 20, 2018 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted June 20, 2018 Please reply back with the following from your machine: As well as with details on what parts of using the application are slow, and if the slowness happens in new blank files with just a few simple test objects, or only in more complex files? 0 Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted June 20, 2018 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted June 20, 2018 Disconnect two of those three monitors, unplugging them from your computer entirely, then restart Vectorworks. Launch one of the files you were seeing extreme slowness in before and navigate around, let me know if the same slowness happens, or if it gets worse or better. Quote Link to comment
0 fvandermeeren
I already do that and they change nothing 😞 Quote Link to comment

0 Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted June 20, 2018 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted June 20, 2018 Nothing in either of these that would indicate any common issues that I can see, I have a very similar hardware setup to both. The only thing I would recommend next is to completely disable any security/antiviral software as well as any automated backups, restart the machine and see if that helps. If that doesnt do it, these cases would need to move into regular support from here. Quote Link to comment

Rendering will, yes, but not geometry calculations like editing/moving objects around for instance. Quote Link to comment
0 Thom
So what you are saying is that a quad core machine is no better than say a dual core and that processing speed is most important. Quote Link to comment
0 zoomer
For now(*) - yes. Look for CPU with fastest single core performanc or Turbo Speed. If you want to do also CPU Rendering, you have to give up some single core speed for having many cores. (*) There might be some improvements possible in the future for CAD work that can be divided into more threads like loading Files, creating Sections or Hiddenlines. But you may still be good with an i5 and 4 fast cores without hyperthreading. Like for Games, such more-than-single-threaded tasks will never profit from a 32 core 64 thread AMD Threadripper 2 CPU.
