2018 Resource Download Issue

Question

My educational version of vectorworks was working fine until I started getting this message today that my library catalog might be outdated while trying to apply textures and insert symbols (see attached screenshot). I restarted vectorworks and also refreshed my library, but it's still not working. Anyone have the solution to this?

First, make sure you have 2018 SP3 installed, a link can be found in my signature.

 

Normally, restarting your machine will correct it if it popped up out of nowhere. However if it continues, there are some library folders that you should manually change the permissions of to Read and Write, which can be found here:

/Users/YOURUSERNAME/Library/Application Support/Vectorworks

and I believe

/Library/Application Support/Vectorworks 2018

 

should do it. If not, contact tech@vectorworks.net and they should be able to get you sorted out.
