Angharad
I am trying to get a point feature class from ArcMap into Vectorworks. Exporting the feature class as a DWG, and importing the DWG into Vectorworks works fine for line features, but for point features i am having trouble. The imported DWG made from the point feature class, while displaying fine in ArcMap with point symbols, seems to come into vectorworks as a set of insertion points which display as very tiny, nearly invisible points. For one insertion point at a time I can select, Modify>Create Symbol, and select a symbol to visualize that point. However, I have many points and cannot figure out how to do this in any way other than with each point, one by one. There doesn't seem to be any way to set point symbology for the class, or layer (like you can do for lineweights or object fills), or to select all the imported points at once so that I could use the 'create symbol' workflow for all of them at once. There has got to be an easy way to do this... Quote Link to comment
RickR
This seems made for the job. Select the Loci and go to > Modify> Convert> Replace with Symbol. Now what symbol to use is another question... Quote Link to comment
Art V
Did you try using shapefile export from ArcMap and then import the shapefile in Vectorworks? When working with GIS I prefer shapefile over dwg as intermediate format, especially if you have to roundtrip between the GIS program and Vectorworks.
