I would suggest you use an image prop for that with a glow applied to the texture The light source should really be buried within the wax itself. I would add a backlit texture to that so that it lets the light out. Try these settings: I would use a simple extrude along path object for the wick. I noticed that In your rederworks style you had caustics enabled. This will only work if you have caustics enabled in the light itself. This drastically adds to render time so you will need to evaluate whether you think its worth it. I seem to remember it added very little to the final result when I played about with this a couple of years ago. I swapped out your candle for one I made last year to let you see what's possible....
