SKB
I have been trying to create a template file with one plant catalog containing plants from several drawing files. I have used the V9 plant drawing update utility but I can not seem to add other plants to the data base. I tried copying and pasting the plants into the drawing but they do not update the data base. I am trying to avoid manually entering the additional data. Quote Link to comment

Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted April 22, 2003 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 22, 2003 OK, now that we've got that cleared up, what do you mean by "can not seem to add other plants to the data base"? Do you mean that you've cut and pasted the plants to your document but can't see them in the Edit Plant Catalog command? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted April 22, 2003 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 22, 2003 OK. To make plant definitions show up in the Edit Plant Catalog command, move their symbol definitions to the folder called "~PlantCatalog". Any new 2D symbols that have come along for the ride should be moved to the "~2D_PSyms" folder and any new 3D symbols should similarly be moved to the "~3D_PSyms" folder. Then everything will show up in the EPC command. All of these cryptically named folders can be found in the symbol folder called "System folder" in your document. Quote Link to comment

SKB
yes that is correct, I have cut and past plants into the drawing, they are plant symbols that show up in drawing 1 in the plant catalog but when they are pasted into drawing 2 they do not appear in the plant catalog Quote Link to comment
