markdd
Does anybody know how to get rid of the De-Bug Menu from a newly updated Vectorworks 2018 SP3. I've tried editing the workspace but its not there. Quote Link to comment
0 Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted March 22, 2018 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted March 22, 2018 Not supposed to show there, it can be cured by deleting the Debug titled item from Vectorworks 2018/Plugins and then restarting the application. Quote Link to comment
0 markdd
Thanks Is this something that I should not be seeing or could I make use of it in any way? Quote Link to comment
0 Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted March 22, 2018 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted March 22, 2018 It isn't useful outside of development from what I understand. I do lots of analytical and diagnostic things related to Vectorworks far outside a normal user's work, and I still never have use for that menu. It may not function properly without you being connected to the corporate network with proper logins etc in any case. Quote Link to comment

0 markdd
No idea. A slightly different one appeared in SP1 as well! Oddly enough it has appeared on both my computers so makes me think it’s something to do with my serial number. Edited March 23, 2018 by markdd Quote Link to comment

Not sure here either. It isn't happening to everyone, I asked engineering why it may have popped up and if I hear back I'll report here. Quote Link to comment
0 Andy Broomell
It shows up on mine and my boss's computers. Quote Link to comment

0 Kevin McAllister
I have it here as well.... so far everyone who's replied in this thread is either running Spotlight or Designer. I wonder if its related to Spotlight..... are any of you having the Spotlight library error when starting up? Kevin Quote Link to comment

0 Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted March 26, 2018 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted March 26, 2018 This was determined to be an issue related to the SP3 installer, not the actual build of SP3 itself. There will be a new SP3 installer released, however it just updates the installation software and not the actual build of Vectorworks that it provides, so there is no reason to re-run the updater. This just means anyone who updates to sp3 after the updater is corrected won't see the debug menu like we did. If the plugin removal trick doesn't work for you however and you still see the menu after restarting Vectorworks, please let me know. Quote Link to comment
0 markdd
Thanks Jim. I've got rid of it by deleting the item in the plug-ins folder. Mark Quote Link to comment

0 Kevin McAllister
I wish one of the functions from it was available to end users - Vectorscript Function Reference. Unfortunately it doesn't work, it seems to want me to find it as a file. I use the webpage based one all the time. KM Quote Link to comment
0 Marionette Maven Marissa Farrell Posted March 27, 2018 Marionette Maven Share Posted March 27, 2018 Hey Kevin, Although this isn't the place that debug menu would go, there is a script reference HTML file shipped with Vectorworks. You can find it in the VW Help > Script Reference folder from your application folder. This file is often slightly more up to date than the developer wiki. Hope this helps! 1 Quote Link to comment

Or at least not the whole case. FYI, I've been having problems with VW cloud services (beach ball over the cloud icon in the menu bar), so I restarted it. It advised an update (some reason for beach ball??) and so I've now updated and all is well (with cloud services). VW now has the debug menu. I can confirm this is due to the cloud services update/procedure, as the plug-ins folder shows 'last updated' being today and now has DebugModule.vwlibrary package listed. Maybe this is helpful for the boffins. Quote Link to comment
