Mikedk64
Hi, Sometimes when I create a dimension in annotations on my viewport, I get these small grenn dots. So when the object is moved on my design layer, the dimension follow on the sheet layer. But this is only sometimes. Why does this only happens sometimes, and what is the magic way to make this happen? Quote Link to comment
markdd
The green squares are Constraint marks and these are applied by default on dimensions unless you turn off that behaviour in Document preferences. `In my experience within viewports it can be a bit hit and miss and I believe they don't appear when there are amore than one on instance of an end point to constrain to. This is always going to be an issue when there are multiple objects coincident to each other in section views as the tool does not know what to attach itself to. If you right-click on the dimension you can "disassociate" it from geometry but it is more difficult to associate a dimension to an object. The constraint tools in Dims/Notes toolset can help apply constraints if the dimension tool fails to pick up a particular point although I haven't had much success with this and indeed wonder whether these tools work with dimensions at all!
