Kris Huberland
Hi, I'm trying to rotate a selection of symbols around their own insertion point, but if I select them all and use the rotate tool, the selection rotates as a group instead of each symbol individual. Is there a way to do this? cheers, Kris Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted January 22, 2018 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 22, 2018 Altering the "Rotation" field in the Object Info palette should rotate them around their individual insertion points I believe. This should even work with a multiple selection. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Or there have been scripts written to allow this: The following thread contains a script I wrote back for VW2015 that should still work in 2018. Read through the whole thread. Likely the last version is what you want. And then there were some other comments on that script in another thread if you need some ideas on how to modify it to meet your needs. If none of that does what you need or if you need more background, ask again. 1 Quote Link to comment
Sam Jones
Attached is a script that ships with AutoPlot Tools for Spotlight. It does not do much more than the scripts mentioned above. It puts up a dialog asking for the angle, if you want selections on other visible layers rotated, and if you want objects in groups (1 layer deep) rotated. It can be used as a document script or a menu command Rotate Each Obj by Query src.vs 1 Quote Link to comment

Sam Jones
When using Jim's suggestion to type into the angle field, pay attention to the difference between typing in a new angle and adding an angle amount to the angle already there. S Quote Link to comment
