Polyline and Polygon starting point beacon

I know this has been requested before, but I want to bump it up the stack.

 

When drawing a polyline or polygon I'd like the starting point to have a flashing beacon until the object creation is complete.

 

Often when I'm drawing polylines or polygons that are long enough that I get interrupted in the middle and come back -- I forget where I started.  At least that what I'm blaming it on.  Could just be my natural absent mindedness.

+1, it doesn't have to be flashing, a different highlight colour would be ok too.
 

I'd like to add to the wish that this starting point cue is permanent for polylines, even though showing direction would give a cue too about on which end the starting point is. For polygons it would be nice too as sometimes I do like to have a starting point for reading out coordinates (e.g. closed fence lines)
