Mikedk64
Hi, When I use the clip cube in 3D, it makes a red cross section. Is it possible to change this color or even make it "transparent" or so I can se the lines from the different layers Quote Link to comment
Marionette Maven Marissa Farrell Posted January 18, 2018 Marionette Maven Share Posted January 18, 2018 You can change the color by going to Tools > Preferences > Interactive tab, click Interactive Appearance Settings, and the color can be set with the Clip Cube - Solid Fill. I do not think you can make this value transparent. 1 Quote Link to comment
Mikedk64
Cool, is it then possible to get the lines from the different layers, so it is easier to see them? Quote Link to comment
markdd
The ClipCube tool does not have a setting to make the fill that you are seeing transparent yet although that's a good idea. The best way to see occluded objects while in OpenGL is to use the x-ray mode by pressing the B key and "mousing" over the portion that you need to see through. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Matt Panzer Posted January 20, 2018 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 20, 2018 Try going to "Set Lighting Options" in the View menu and turn on Ambient Occlusion: A side effect of this feature is that the clip cube cut fill turns translucent: 1 Quote Link to comment

Its super useful for modelling. I've wish listed it before - Kevin Quote Link to comment
zoomer
I currently use an App that also offers editable amount transparency in shaded OpenGL modes. You can even set the number of transparency rays, to decide how deep you want to look into your model. That is quite handy. Quote Link to comment
