Add the ability to add custom Preference toggles to the Mode Bar

Please add the ability to add custom Preference toggles to the Mode bar. Ideally this would include the ability to add script elements. In another thread there was a discussion about the Snap to Loci preference which has been removed from the interface but is still available using a script. This is the type of thing that should be able to be added.

 

(Of course you can add these things to the Script Palette but they appear as text, not icons, and the Script Palette can't be docked to the VW window.

 

Flexibility is key.

This would be useful to have, and if an option is available by using a script such as the Snap to Loci then it should be available in the VW interface, even if it takes customizing it (.e.g similar to putting legacy tools back into the workspace)

Agree with both. A really simple way to execute scripts one uses everyday. Of course you could make a menu command, but that’s a bit of a chore to do. A set of quick “user” buttons would be a nice addition.
