patrick king
I have a site model with a complicated topography and was wondering whether i could place a road on this model that sits on top of this complicated topography and moulds to the site model. Can this be done ?? many thanks. Quote Link to comment
zoomer
I am also interested. I have seen a tutorial where they created a road from a path. Quote Link to comment

CipesDesign
Nurbs Road, created from centerline/poly. It will take a lot of massaging, but it can be done. Suggest you play around in a copied file so you have freedom to explore and learn what the various tool settings can (and cannot) do. Quote Link to comment
zoomer
I am also doing fine with texture beds so far. But what I would like to have is a Road that is sideways with retaining edges to modify those height differences beside the road. And, more important, I would like to have optional walk ways at the same level as the terrain and a road which is deeper at -15-20 cm. Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Texture beds work fine as long as a) the Site Model is fairly smooth/even under them and b) you don't zoom in too close or at particular angles which show unevenness. Quote Link to comment
zoomer
^ Yes. I was lucky so far. Not too much slope and the terrain was mainly (re)modeled by hand. Quote Link to comment
