Hello Bertf,

Sorry about the confusion, seems like you do not have access to the bug submitting system. We will investigate this issue further more and let you know, when there is progress on it.

Hi Nikolay,

Can I ask about how the Short / Medium / Long formats are defined? They don't seem to match the operating system settings on my Mac which is what I would expect. Below are some example screen shots.

Thanks,

Kevin

Hello Kevin,

At this time, there are only these 3 formats for plot date, that you have showed in the pictures. The wish you have mentioned above is covering the functionality you are asking about.

Thanks Nikolay. I guess I'm not understanding what's different about this thread and what's being asked for in the wish. I'm not asking for another format. I'm asking what determines the VW formats since they don't match the system settings.

Cheers,

Kevin

The formats should be taken from the system settings, but, as you have mentioned, this is not the case, meaning there is a bug, that we will have to look into. Thanks for pointing this out! :)

It has now been just under 12 months since this bug was reported, several service packs have come and gone, and I have paid for my VW2018 license which presumably won't see another service pack. Has this bug really not yet been addressed?

Hello @Thomas Peters,

Thanks for reminding me about this. I have forgotten to update you on the progress here.

This bug is fixed in SP2 of VW 2019.

Meanwhile, there are more options for Plot Date Format in VW 2019 SP0, that could be helpful without the fix in SP2.

Best Regards,

Nikolay Zhelyazkov

Thank you @Nikolay Zhelyazkov, I've hijacked this thread only because I've googled this problem that's been annoying me several times in the last few months.

Unfortunately Service Packs to VW2019 do not help me, having purchasing my 2018 license in April 2018.

To be clear, a broken function reported almost 12 months ago has been ignored over the course of 5(.2) service packs and there's no hope for any remedy?

The fix for this was not trivial and required some time for analyzing. I do not think the fix could be integrated in earlier versions/service packs.

I just now see that in VW 2019 it is possible to choose custom formats!

This really makes my day! 🎉🎉 So much better when you can exports pdfs starting with YY-MM-DD

Thank you so much @Nikolay Zhelyazkov and all the other VW-people who made this possible!

I think allot of customers will appreciate this.

@_c_ where you aware of this al ready?

No! It is THERE!

Nikolay, wonderful! There was people here not using the old title block because the date format would be "strange"!

Follow-up question - where are these custom date formats defined, and how would one go about changing them?

Better than the previous version, but still missing some things, i.e. DD MMM YYYY / 28 Dec 2018....

- Unfortunately, I do not think that there is any way to change these values.

Has this already been filed as a known issue to be fixed in future versions? Where are the date formats coming from - the OS or as part of the sheet border / title block tool?

- The Auto-Custom date formats were added as a workaround for the other incorrect date formats and are not editable. However, now the other date formats are fixed in SP-2 of VW2019 and are taken from the OS, so "Auto-Short", "Auto-Medium" or "Auto-Long" should get the job done.
