Bruce Kieffer
Is there a setting to default Multi View Panes to Split Vertically? Seems that it only breaks the screen into 4 quadrants. I just need 2 quadrants, so I always have to close 2 of the view panes (I sense a pun here, but I will refrain!) Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
It does not look like there is any control over this, even with scripting. If this is not something you turn on and off frequently, could you just set up your template file to have the two vertical panes and leave it on? Quote Link to comment
Gadzooks
You jumped in on that quick @Pat Stanford! Yes I was going to say the same thing. Your favourite template 'starter' saved with the panes you want works well. It will remember the view chosen for each pane as well rather than randomising. Quote Link to comment
Bruce Kieffer
Thanks, I will modify my templates. Interestingly, I just tested turning off Enable Multi View Panes and turned it back on, and it retains my 2 panes split vertically setup. Nice! Quote Link to comment
Bruce Kieffer
But it is not retained after a quit of Vectorworks or a computer restart. Maybe I'm wrong about this. I need to test more. Edited December 14, 2017 by Bruce Kieffer Quote Link to comment
Member Chih-Pin Posted December 15, 2017 Member Share Posted December 15, 2017 @Pat Stanfordis correct. The ViewPane and splitter data are saved with the document. So you are able to save your templates with your preferred view pane configurations. But if you do not load from the template when creating a new file, it will create the default pane and splitter configurations. Chih-Pin Quote Link to comment
