Hi- trying to copy an object for example, by 'x' distance but i can't go higher than '9mm'.

I can only input single digits..... am i missing something? thanks!

Are you perhaps using the dynamic input bar in VW2018? There is a bug in 2018 that prevents typing more than 1 digit in certain situations.

Two workarounds are:

1. Duplicate in place (turn of the duplicate offset in the preferences) and then use the move command (CTRL-M on Windows, CMD-M on Mac).

2. Use the Duplicate array command (Ctrl-Shift-Alt-D on Windows) and use 1 duplicate for a single copy and put in the distance in the desired directions.

Another way is the Move By Points tool, Move mode, with tool prefs set to 1 duplicate and Retain Original:

Invoke the tool & adjust mode and tool prefs as necessary.

Cmd Click (MacOS) an object to select the object to Copy/Move

Click the start point of the Copy/Move.

Press Tab key to invoke the floating data entry bar.

Press Tab key again as needed to highlight the ∆x field (or just use the Length field if only moving in x direction)

Fill desired value (Tab again to highlight and fill other fields as desired)

Dbl press Return key to accept the values.

Result - A duplicate of the object is placed on the drawing at location defined

I'm not seeing any character limit in the data fields.

And, actually, I prefer a combo of Duplicate in Place (Cmd D), then Move by Points (Shift M).

My Move by Points normally has tool prefs at 0 Duplicates & Retain Original.

Also note that the Move By Points tool mode bar offers a field for number of duplicates.

This value can be changed by clicking into the field and keying in a number.

Then press the Tab key!

The new value is not accepted by the tool unless the Tab key is pressed.

Some people had trouble putting in more than one digit into the pop-up data fields during SP0, it probably got fixed in SP1 or else SP2 but the OP didn't mention what SP is being used but based on the 1 digit limit is might be SP0.

@ZahraYou may want to download SP2 and update your trial copy with this as it fixes a lot of bugs etc. and should give you a better experience during the trial.

I'm having the same issue - and it's driving me mental. Did you manage to resolve it by changing settings or an SP update, perhaps?
