HawaiiFarmer
I have been using resources from Andersen Door Catalog.vwx and Andersen Window Catalog.vwx for more than a year now when suddenly these two files had nothing in them except for two doors and three windows respectively. Under VW 2018, the cupboard is still bare. I have installed packages from Help > Download Content > Vectorworks Package Manager, but still get no results. I have, of course, rebooted my machine. This could be something simple, but after some weeks of intermittent problem-solving, I am at a deadend. Many thanks. Edited November 11, 2017 by HawaiiFarmer Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Matt Panzer Posted November 11, 2017 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 11, 2017 Our Door and Window content now takes advantage of the new Door and Window Style Catalog feature in Vectorworks 2018. This allows us to provide much more content than in previous versions. Catalog content is accessed through a Door or Window Style. The basic workflow is to insert a Door or Window Style from our content, edit the style, rename as desired, and choose a product from the catalog. Here's a quick (silent) video showing how it works: ScreenFlow.mp4 Quote Link to comment
HawaiiFarmer
Got it. One (motion) picture is worth a thousand words. I had diligently read the 2018 Brochure with its various sub-paths and videos, but somehow missed this. Could you recommend other reading/viewing that might spare me further ignorance in the semantics of VW 1018? Thank you for your help and for any further guidance. Quote Link to comment

Art Garcia agarcia@fabcab.com THX! Andersen 100, 200, 400, and A series units are available in the Andersen catalog included with Vectorworks. There are no additional catalog files from Andersen that can be downloaded. Please post a request for additional catalog content in the https://forum.vectorworks.net/index.php?/forum/19-wishlist-feature-and-content-requests/ forum. Quote Link to comment

The "Select from Catalog" option is dimmed in OIP for any catalog style listed in VW Libraries Building Window Styles (Andersen, Loewen, Marvin etc) Please advise. The reason for this is because the catalog item is by style so only one catalog item can be used for that style. You can edit the style and make the catalog item by instance by toggling the style button (see image) to allow instances of the style to choose different items which will also enable the "Select from Catalog" button in the Object Info palette. The reason we made the catalog item by style in our content is because it's recommended (for doors and windows) to use one catalog item per style to make it easier to manage, report on, etc. 1 Quote Link to comment
