Jim Smith
I have a colleague with some Mini Cad files looking to import they may be MiniCad 3 or older. I have a copy of Vectorworks 10 (not 2010) running on an OS 9 machine & it will not import the files. Anyone able to do this translation? Quote Link to comment
Art V
Unfortunately not if they are indeed Minicad 3 files. But you could try this conversion program for converting Minicad 5 or newer files to VW 10.5 format in case these drawing are Minicad 5 or later but still too old to open with e.g. VW 10. http://www.vectorworks.nl/nl/support/downloads/software Scroll down to the bottom of that page until you see "Vectorworks oude bestanden omzetten" The first link below that is for the Mac version and works only on OS9 The second link is for the Windows version. Even though it may be in Dutch, it is a simple drag and drop to start conversion , or the open command in the file (or "Bestand" if Dutch) menu. Unfortunately my copy of Minicad 5 used a dongle which I had to return for the new USB one when upgrading to a later version, otherwise I could have used that copy to try to convert the files. Jim Smith
Thanks I'll send this along to my pal. BTW, I had a toaster Mac that just kept working, I think it had MCD 5 on it I was able to translate older MCD files until about 3 years ago when the old Mac itself was toast! Quote Link to comment
MullinRJ
Jim, If Art's link doesn't work, I'll be happy to convert them for you. I've got versions back to MC+2.0 running on a trusty G5. Raymond Quote Link to comment
