Bruce Kieffer
What is this dashed square and how do I hide it? Quote Link to comment
halfcoupler
seems that you have activated a working plane. The square shows the relation between working plane and layer plane. If you want to get rid of the square, go to the working plane palette and double click on "Active Layer Plane" Quote Link to comment
Bruce Kieffer
That's it. Thanks much. Is there a way to set the default to active layer plane? Edited October 12, 2017 by Bruce Kieffer Quote Link to comment
halfcoupler
Layer plane is the default plane when you open a blank document. As soon as you do a plan rotation or use the "set working plane tool" you are on a (temporary) working plane (indicated by the red square). When you return to active layer plane by double clicking it in the working plane palette, or by re-rotating the plan to 0° then the layer plane is default again and the (temporary) working plane is lost. If you want to restore the working plane for later use, you have to save it first by | Modify | Workingplane | save workingplane | . It will then be available on the working plane palette and you can toggle between them. Don't mix up the working plane settings with the "working plane views / layer plane views " buttons, since they only toggle your shortkey settings (numpad) between working plane and layer plane an do not affect in which plane you are working. I'ts a bit confusing, but once you got it, changing to working planes instead of twisting and turning objects on layer plane can save much time. 2 Quote Link to comment
