How to export an image w/out using sheet layers

How does one export a view without setting up a sheet layer?  I have two views that I want to export. They are cropped perspective shots, and I would like them to export at a specific dpi.  But when I go to the publish command, the "current view" option is grayed out upon exporting an image.

Well I ranted so much about it in the past.

I don't use VW to create any serious images as long as it is as it is.

I sometimes do DL screenshots by my Screenshot App for client previews.

Or I do Screenshots (!) from SLVP's.

(Double resolution just to get finer OpenGL edges)

I would also like to be able to do that like in other CAD or 3D Apps .....

Should be easy to get the Viewports from cropped perspectives.

Ok, little tedious SL "layout" work.

But at least it will help if you need the same shots later again after changes with the press of a button.

Honestly, I'm not sure why you would not want to use a Sheet Layer & Viewport. It makes it really easy. To get a specific resolution, you just need to use math. For instance, I have a SL set up as 20" wide by 11.25" tall. At 96 DPI, you get a 1920x1080 image. At 192 DPI, it's 4k. Publish to a JPG or PNG file and it looks great.
