michaelk
Anybody else have trouble with 2018 either not quitting or taking so long to close that you need to force quit it? New 15" MacBook Pro MacOS 10.12.6 Quote Link to comment

That depends on how long it takes to make you feel to need to force quit something I have so far not experienced any problems with VW 2018 not quitting. But generally, from all my Apps, VW in all Versions beginning with VW 2014 for me, needs by far the most time ever to quit. 0 Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted October 6, 2017 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 6, 2017 I've seen it take longer than normal for files or resources/user folders stored over the network than when stored locally. I haven't run into myself, how long is it running before being force quit? Quote Link to comment
0 markdd
Sometimes takes 30 seconds or so to quit. Spinning OSX ball is always rather unnerving. Quote Link to comment

I'll start timing it when I quit 2018 to get accurate times. Quote Link to comment

But long enough that it annoys if you want to restart your VW because it started to behave strangely. Also no network applied here, everything on local SSDs. Quote Link to comment
0 michaelk
After quitting and restarting 2018 it closes (with no documents open) in a blazing 11 seconds. 2017 does the same thing in 19 seconds. Progress!! Quote Link to comment
0 zoomer
For me 2017 is faster, both starting and closing. I opened both without a file and closed them again. Interesting that without a file or some time of working with VW, closing times are more like 2-3 seconds only. Otherwise I was also in the 10-15 seconds range for closing. Quote Link to comment
