mattryan
Hi I am trying to build a stair with a landing at the top and wondering if there is a way to do this with the stair tool? I have seen some posts about a custom stair tool but I can't seem to find it 2018? Thanks for the help Quote Link to comment
zoomer
I think yes. (I talk about the standard stair tool, not the old legacy tools) There is an option to ad a last top riser - and there is an option to define a custom length. So your last riser will be the "landing" BTW, you can search for the old simple and custom stair tool when editing your workspace. (Make a duplicate of any of the default workspaces to build your custom workspace) You can pull out any legacy tools as long as these are still available. But it would be better if you get used to the current stair tools as the older ones aren't 100% reliable in newer VW versions anymore. Edited October 4, 2017 by zoomer Quote Link to comment
mattryan
Great thanks! So i have been able to extend the top tread to make the landing, one small problem is it appears to have stretched the stringer so the bottom edge is on an angle, is there a way to correct this? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
zoomer
Oooops .... I hoped that it would work by setting the top slab depth, so that the slope runs through and stops at the "slab's" bottom. Quote Link to comment

mattryan
Great thank you very much, I am realizing you sometimes have to find a work around for some of the tools shortcomings. Quote Link to comment
