lisagravy
I have an existing site model which I have modified extensively. I now want to cut sections through this, which I can do using create section viewport, which gives a line showing my proposed levels. Is there a way to also turn on the existing line? Or do I need to turn off my site modifiers, update my site model, and rerun the section? (surely not...) Quote Link to comment
lisagravy
Found this as a non-live work around: ...hoping that I can do this in a section viewport now and don't have to revert to the 2014 method, which I'll need to re-do everytime my model changes? Quote Link to comment
Benson Shaw
@lisag As you probably discovered, the Section VP updates to show the 3d display status of the Site Model. eg If the DTM is in Existing 3d display, the section vp shows the existing section. If DTM is in 3d Proposed status, the vp shows proposed section. One way to have exist and proposed sections from the same section line is with the Site Model Snapshot. Select the site model, place it in 3d display Existing OIP click Create a Snapshot Place the snapshot on a new layer titled "Existing_xx/xx/xx" or similar to show name with date. Make the new layer invisible so it doesn't mess up sheets and saved views. Return the site model to 3d Proposed & update. Switch to your sheet layer and duplicate the section vp. Name the dupe "Existingxxxxxx" or similar showing a date if needed Adjust Layer visibility to show the new snapshot layer and exclude the Site Model layer. Update. If necessary, select the original vp and adjust visibility to exclude the new snapshot layer. Update. If Existing config changes, replace the snapshot or create a new one on a new layer. Name with new date & update the Existingxxxxx vp. Update HTH -B Edited September 28, 2017 by Benson Shaw remember to update VPs & Site Models 3 Quote Link to comment
