Andrew Davies
Hi I know I should be putting annotations on the annotation layer of a sheet layer viewport - but sometimes I need them on a design layer. As I always have my design layers at 1:1 - I need to bump up the font size (usually to around 1200). Fair enough. But if I have a line with a marker / arrow, I can't get it to show. It's always too small. I usually end up drawing it manually. Any one got any good tips for adding markers to design layers? Thanks, Andrew Quote Link to comment
Markvl
You can edit the marker list. And in that list is an option for a custom configuration. Press the down area on either the lower left or lower right sides of the palette. Quote Link to comment
Andrew Davies
Thanks Markvl I've fiddled about with that, but the overall size seems to be limited Quote Link to comment
Markvl
@Andrew DaviesI think I see what your saying. Is there any reason why you couldn't draw at a given scale other than 1:1? Lots of factors there given I have no idea what your workflow is like. All my line work such as leaders etc. is done in the annotations portion of my viewports on sheet layers. So I never deal with this kind of issue. Quote Link to comment
Andrew Davies
Thanks Yes, most of my annotation is done in annotation space on a viewport on sheet layers (that's a mouth full) - just occasionally I need to draw an arrow / add text on a design layer. For me it just makes sense to keep all design layers at 1:1 I'll fiddle about with those settings. Thanks Andrew Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Matt Panzer Posted September 8, 2017 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted September 8, 2017 Hi Andrew, If the only place you care to see the markers is in the viewport, change the marker scaling as needed in the viewport's Advanced Properties. 1 Quote Link to comment
Andrew Davies
Matt - that's brilliant. Exactly what I needed. Haven't seen those settings before! No more setting text styles based on whether they are on sheet layers (annotation) or design layers - and solved my line marker question! Thanks! Andrew Quote Link to comment
