Monthly or weekly Webinar/broadcast?

RussU

Question

Hi Folks.

I'm a nerd, and I like photography, and a friend and I do monthly, live broadcast webinars about Tilt/shift, focal length and so on, (with the option to view online after too)

It's not too hard to setup, and my friend often has guests on each month to talk about their stuff for an hour.

I would LOVE to see VW do something like this. I'm very interested in so many things, like Marrionette and Lighting tools, but until some one shows you the way, it's tricky to start.

What do we say folks? I know I'd do a stint or two to share what I know... Who else might be up for it? If VW are too stretched, we as users could put something together??

(We do it live, so it cuts out the post production and it's a lot more fun too!)

Thoughts?

I would too. And would be glad to share some of my knowledge and it would be good to hear from outside of the architecture field as this is well served by webinars on the VSS site. Spotlight is very basic. Novedge run a series of webinars but their content is again rather basic to say the least and not very Euro-time friendly.

It would be good to see real specialists delving into a particular tool or process, and sharing imaginative uses for some of the tools that less experienced users might never have thought of. What I have noticed from my limited interaction with student or new users is that they are frustrated because VW does not necessarily offer the out-of-the box cure-all for every instance, however I would like them to see that with a little time, skill and most importantly imagination, almost any concept can be illustrated. Maybe a UK user group would be a good start?

Go for it.  In the early days of podcasting (2006-2009), Dan Jansenson and I did about 34 episodes of The PodCad Podcast. News, Hints, and Opinion from the World of Vectorworks.

I have thought about resurrecting it, but life keeps getting in the way.

I don't think we ever got more than about 500 downloads of any episode.

Hopefully the timing is better now. I know the support from Columbia will be better than it was then.
