K. Johnson
Hello, I am working on a five-story building and have a two-story space where one of the the exterior walls spans across the two stories with windows. If I make the wall in question visible on both the first floor and second floor plans, the windows and doors from the opposite floor appear in the viewport for an inaccurate drawing. Is there a way to change the viewport cut plane so that it cuts through the building at the appropriate height in both the first floor plan and second floor plan? Or what is the best practice for modeling multi-story exterior walls? Quote Link to comment
michaelk
I usually do something like the attached drawing. Basically put the window on the first floor and let it span into the second floor, sticking out above the wall. Insert the same window into the wall on the second floor. Change the Z value to be the negative of the difference of the layer Z value between the second and first floors. Change the window type to be just an opening. Uncheck On Schedule. 2_Story_Windows.vwx 3 Quote Link to comment
K. Johnson
I forgot to reply sooner. Thanks for your tip! It is a good solution for this project. Quote Link to comment
