Design layers disappear when toggling between them

Hi all, new to this forum, lots more to learn, but thank you all for being here.

 

I've been having this problem that I can't work around and it's causing much frustration.

 

After adding a co-worker's referenced file, I have disappearing design layers when I toggle between the layers. When my own design layer is active I do not see any of the referenced design layers. It is only when I set the referenced design layer to be active then I can see that particular layer. Visibilities are set to all visible. The only toggling I'm doing is on the active layer section.

 

Any pointers for this or am I just missing something? Thanks all!

If all Layer and Class visibilities are set to Show Others then you might want to switch your Navigation Graphics performance in the Display options of VW preferences to say Good Performance and Compatibility. I have found that a number of visibility issues have been resolved by toggling this setting.

Maybe the layers are in different scale? Go to Layers, chose scale, and set All Layers to preferred scale.

If you're ever in a situation where you need the layers to be at different scales, just turn off "Unified View" under the View menu (or go to Unified View Options and uncheck "Ignore layers with different scale").
