folding door tool

Jim,

As you know lots of us have been asking for a door tool that allows us to draw folding doors with any number of leaves as the are so very common these days in house extensions, new houyses, restauarants and other commercial situations.

Can you confirm that this is included in VW2018 as looking at the wishes granted list today I don't see any mention??

Jim, can you tell us when it will be included please? We really need a firm commitment now if you want us to buy further releases, we also desparately need a much improved stair tool, again this has been 'wished' for some time now. Thanks

I can not, no. Apologies, as I know exactly how frustrating that is. 

 

Even if I did know for sure (which I honestly do not in this particular case) I would still be subject to the various non disclosure rules as an employee of Vectorworks Inc and would have to adhere to the schedule for when things can go public and when they can't.

I have had to make many work arounds to get these types of doors into my BIM models.  These doors inevitably change in size and configuration during design and costing that it becomes a bit of a challenge to change on the fly when it needs to be.

 

The doors are very desirable in many large custom homes.

I have to agree - in even modest homes & remodels I see these mult-fold doors (& windows) become a very prominent part of the architecture.

Irrigation model tools are all very well but for us working in architecture and building design we really need VW to give us these basic tools that we have been requesting for some years.
