Sky Posted August 7, 2017 Share Posted August 7, 2017 I'm trying to get the plants I've placed into the site to auto rotate. The 3D Graphics image prop has Crossed Planes and Auto Rotate checked off but it doesn't rotate in my renderings. What am I doing wrong? Quote Link to comment
AlanW Posted August 7, 2017 Share Posted August 7, 2017 @Sky The image prop doesn't actually rotate, it faces the viewer all the time if the auto rotate is checked and appears 3D only. Unchecked you can see it as a flat plane. (I stand corrected) Quote Link to comment

When I do a 3D rendering, they are clearly not rotating towards the viewer. I don't have a lot of experience using plants in Vectorworks, but I have used image props many times and never had a problem with the image prop not rotating when the option is checked. Sky Posted August 8, 2017 Author Share Posted August 8, 2017 I'm looking at it more carefully, and I think they are auto rotating. But the cross planes are causing it to cast shadows on itself. I tried unchecking Cross Planes in the image prop, but it is still showing as cross planes in 3D. The other option would be a way to turn of shadows for the plants, but I haven't been able to figure that out either. Quote Link to comment

zoomer Posted August 8, 2017 Share Posted August 8, 2017 I think auto rotate doesn't work when crossplanes activated. I use autorotate flat only. Maybe non hiding crossplanes in final render is just related with RW problems not updating the geometry cache (?) and it would work after restarting VW (?) Quote Link to comment
