List of Objects in Classes

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I'm fairly new to Vectorworks so please forgive me if this is a basic question. I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to see a list of objects in a particular class. For example, I'm designing a stage with a variety of lighting fixtures, so I have all of the lights in a Lighting class. It would be great if I could then see a list of all fixtures within that class.

Is this the best way to organize my lighting? Or would it be better to give each fixture type its own class?

Your advice is much appreciated!

That's a fine way. Some folks organize by type eg. Lighting-Movers, Lighting-Conventionals with the - acting as a nesting trigger.

To create a list you have  few options:

Create a custom Worksheet - a database/spreadsheet for counting & displaying items

Spotlight>Reports

Place an Instrument Summary on the drawing.  Spotlight Tool Palette>Instrument Summary
