Shadi Posted February 29, 2004 Share Posted February 29, 2004 how to draw a gear? i drew a small prong (like a triangle) out of two composed lines and a circle (converted to nurbs) and tried to duplicate the prong along the circle, but the result looks very displaced ... thanks for help! shadi Quote Link to comment
jan15 Posted March 1, 2004 Share Posted March 1, 2004 Apply the Duplicate Array command to the tooth. Use the "Circular Array" option, with Number = number of teeth, and Angle = 360 divided by that. Select "Next Mouse Click", close the dialogue box, and then click on the center of the circle. To quickly make a gear that's a single drawing object: 1. Use the 2D Polygon tool to draw an elongated kite-shaped figure with vertices at the 3 points of the tooth and at the center of the circle. 2. Apply the Duplicate Array command to it, as described above. 3. Apply the Add Surface command to the array of kites while they're still all selected. Quote Link to comment
