Hedge tool - is it possible to specify more than one species of plant?

I am creating a double staggered hedgerow but I want to include more than one species of plant, and preferably to have them randomly located, but with the species mix specified - a bit like the landscape area tool, but in a hedge.  I can see how it works with just one species which is pretty useful if you want a beech hedge but is it possible for example to have a native mixed hedge or do I need to revert to landscape area tool?

I would say that the landscape area tool is ideal for this. Draw the plan shape, add the plants and turn on the 3D part.

The hedge tool or option will only add rows simplifying the design process. For different species in rows (i.e. two rows one of boxwood the other of hydrangea) you would still need to create two different rows.
