disappearing symbol parts, watermarking

I purchased Spotlight and have been working on it fine until Fri 6/9 when all my instrument symbols disappeared, except for the ETC source 4 26% which left the slash mark. In addition, the previously unwatermarked drawing opened this morning watermarked. I had previously used an educational version and took great steps to noy use anything from that version. I was working on rendering when the lights went.

Did you just have ETC Source 4 symbols in your drawing?

No. I also had Altman 6" fresnels, par 56s and 64s

the ETC 26% units were the only ones that left a piece of the symbol

I'm afraid I don't have an easy solution. Did you backup your file? Most people set their files to backup every 15-20mins or after 20 or so commands so not much is lost if things go wrong.

In addition, the doors to the theater disappeared.

I saved a copy to a thumb drive so I could work at home. I tried to open that and it came up with the problem file.

I don't have a solution I'm afraid unless you want to post the file here and then I and others could take a look. You should definitely contact tech support though.

Perhaps you've already done so, but whenever things disappear on me, here are the first things I check:

• Check that I'm in Top/Plan
• Turn on every single class
• Make sure class visibility options are set to "Show/Snap/Modify Others"
• Turn on every single Layer

Thanks for the symbol advice. worked great. still working on the rendering. Now my problem is during the number instrument procedure when the OK button is clicked the program quits. Help!

I had instrument-related issues that were corrected after following the steps in that thread (and I'm not a Vision user).
