Garry Dreger
Should I upgrade now, or wait awhile? Any major problems? I am using 9.5.3 with mac os 10.3.1. Thanks garry Quote Link to comment
Travis
We waited until December to upgrade to 10.5.1 (VWA) It is considerably more stable (we used to track 9.5.x crashes by the hour, not the day!) and seems slightly more robust for our work-flow. One caveat: bringing 9.x.x files into 10.5.1 is yielding some odd printer behavior under OSX.3 There are a couple of posts on the Printer board, including mine, that you might like to pay attention to. Old files brought forward printed falsified, ie dimensions didn't scale accurately, while new files created in 10.5.1 printed true. VWA or OSX.3? Who knows? Other people have had postscript problems. We simply go back to 9.5 to print old files, problem solved. Good luck. Quote Link to comment
jnr
10.5.1 fixed most of the bugs in 10.5. So far it seems to be working for me. Version 10 is a superior product to 9 hands down. There are lingering functionality issues which seemed to get ignored, but what is there at least works and doesn't crash incessantly. Best rule of engagement: Upgrade only when you are ready to start a new project. Legacy stability is not one of this software's strong suits. New projects on this new version seem to be OK. You'll appreciate the stability and some of the other convienences. Quote Link to comment
