bcd
Sounds weird I know, but much like a 2d object can be extruded into a 3d volume sometimes given a particular view I would like to be able to extrude a 2d locus point to a line / nurbs Quote Link to comment
0 Markvl
@bcdwould you give an example and/or illustrate where this might be useful. It does sound a little weird. Would the extruded locus in a sense remain a locus? Quote Link to comment
0 bcd
Sure - so I'm placing a centerpoint in an arena in top/plan view as a locus. Extrude 100' now I have a vertical line I can reference from all 3d views. Or I'm looking perpendicularly at a working plane of a cross-section of an pipe. Place a locus point - extrude 2m and now I have a nurbs curve defining the c/l of the next segment. Quote Link to comment
0 grant_PD
But since the locus has no vector, how would we know in which direction it extrudes? Quote Link to comment

It would extrude as any other extrude does, through the screen plane. I think this is a great idea. I would use it a lot. Kevin Quote Link to comment
0 Andy Broomell
I can't remember why, but I've wanted to this once or twice before as well. Quote Link to comment
