Mr. Blom
As the title says, i need to learn Vectorworks. I just dont know where the best place is to find online training. Ive looked at Lynda, but they only have a 2hours course. There is the http://www.vectorworks.net/training/2017/getting-started-guides But as the title says, its for getting started. there is youtube, but i havent had any luck finding a VW master to learn from. So any and all linked to learning sites for Vectorworks is greatly appreciated. Both subscribtions sites, free-to-learrn, as well as youtube channels. Thanks for taking a look at my post Quote Link to comment
markdd
You have definitely come to the right place. I am completely self taught. The key to learning VW is to have an actual project to work towards. With patience and a long weekend with the VectorWorks YouTube channel as well as the excellent help files shipped with VW you will be well on the way to having more than the basics. Then if that has sufficiently piqued your interest you will find that these forums are the best place to learn and have your daft and not so daft questions answered by some real experts from all over the world! (Sometimes within minutes.) VectorWorks can become quite addictive if you enjoy learning new skills. If you have a buddy/mentor who can occasionally show you some of the best tricks, techniques and shortcuts then even better. There are always two, three or even more ways to do something with this software. Also there are Facebook groups which can be helpful. Fill in your signature for this forum so other members can see what version you are running and also what industry specifically interests you. There are lots of specialists and educators on this forum who are very generous with their time. Good luck! 2 Quote Link to comment
bc
I can add this: http://learn.archoncad.com/ probably best all-around source for learning everything VW. It's basically pay to play but you get a lot of free stuff too. Quote Link to comment

barkest
It also depends on your discipline, VW has many uses from lighting to landscaping. Quote Link to comment
Chris Fleming
There are a few good trainers out there. I've used member BCD more than once, and have NEVER regretted the investment. You can definitely self teach by experimenting and watching videos, but at the end of the day, if real production is what you seek, find a trainer. BCD and I used Skype. He was in Ireland, and I in Chicago. Through screen sharing and voice call, it was a painless and productive session. Literally changed my life in regard to how I work with and use Vectorworks on a daily basis. As barkest stated above, you'll need to let your trainer know what you're planning on using VW to do. Good luck! Quote Link to comment

rowbear97
Mr Blom, In addition to Vectorworks classes there are others out there that can provide support via webcast to assist with training and can even help you with your workflow to make the most of the software. I myself provide this service either in person or through screen sharing. Best of luck! Quote Link to comment

trashcan
Any other options out there for learning VectorWorks specifically for Spotlight? Enrolled in the seminar, doing the tutorials but can see myself benefiting from an online class of some kind. 1 Quote Link to comment
